ECOALF was born in 2009. The idea was to create a truly sustainable fashion company. The concept arose from frustration over the excessive use of the world's natural resources and the amount of waste produced by industrialized countries.

Its founder, Javier Goyeneche, set out to create a sustainable fashion brand and it seemed to him that the most sustainable thing was to not continue using the planet's natural resources in an indiscriminate way. Recycling could be the solution if we were able to create a new generation of fashion products made from recycled materials with the same quality, design and technical properties as the best non-recycled products. In this way we would demonstrate that we should not continue using natural resources in an indiscriminate way.

The problem was that when we went to the market to look for recycled materials we found a very scarce offer, of very low quality and with very low recycling percentages. ECOALF saw the need to start making alliances to, through investment in sophisticated innovation processes, develop fabrics, linings, tapes, soles, labels, and laces with recycled materials. By investing in R&D and traveling the world to identify waste and the ideal partners to transform it, we have built ECOALF.
